The Brazosland Pistoleros are members of the Texas South Section of United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA), Region 4. The Brazosland Pistoleros hold matches on the fourth Sunday of each month.
We are the Brazosland Pistoleros, the oldest continually shooting USPSA/IPSC club in the state of Texas.
On the 4th Sunday of every month we run a sanctioned USPSA match. Usually we’ll run 4 stages and a sidematch, or 3 stages and a Combo stage. Stages are often the full-bore Run-n-Gun type with movers, doors, ports, windows and steel. We don’t often “Shoot From Box A, Shoot from Box Bâ€... if there is a box on one of our stages, it’s only there to show you where to start from. Our Combo stages are field courses that combine two of the match stages into one run-and-gun stage. Bring your cleats!
A typical match will consist of 3 field courses with up to 25-32 rounds each, plus a possible combo and a classifier stage. We have competitors in all 5 USPSA divisions. You can expect to see every level of competition at our matches from first match to GM level. Many of our regulars compete on the National level but even more shoot the local club circuit.
Our Side matches are shot strictly for fun and bragging rights. We run shotgun or rifle/carbine sides...sometimes if we are feeling truly demented we will set up a sidematch that can be shot with Rifle, Shotgun and/or Pistol.
Never shot a USPSA Match? New to action shooting? You might want to look here! We promote the safe, practical use of firearms in a friendly but competitive setting.
